Parador Gibralfaro Hotel

The Parador was a big disappointment for the price we paid. The "breathtaking view" was largely of the noisy docks and major trafic juntions. It as an extremely steep, long climb from town which you could not do at night as there was no lighting. The infrequent Bus stopped at 7.20pm so it was an 8 euro taxi ride each evening. The pool was very noisy because of pump room and some other engine room. You could not get a drink at the pool and towels were kept at reception so it was not relaxing. If you stick to fish the"award winning" food is good but the pork was dried out. Breakfast was excellent. Bar service could be hard to find at times but restaurant service was good. The bathroom could have been cleaner - the tiles were growing mould which would have wiped off easily.

Top Tip

Don't go expecting to keep to the hotel for R&R as it is too noisy and not that attractive or relaxing. You can't go out and pop back to the hotel easily or cheaply either.
